|
|
Having experimented with different ammo for my different guns this is what my ladies like.
Ruger 10/22 - CCI sub sonic HP
Ruger 10/77 - Winchester sub sonic HP
Remington 581 - Eley HP
My CZ 17HMR - Remington 17 grain AccuTip
Pybus 22-250 - work in progress
Mossberg 500 pump - anything in 12 guage!
The 10/22 hates Winchester and jams on every shot with MagTech although MagTech does the most damage on bunnies I haven't found it very consistant and therefore not as accurate.
The 10/77 works with everything but does seem to favour the Winchester. While the Remington will only keyhole at 100yds with the Eley the downside being that Eley is almost twice as expensive as CCI or Winchester.
My CZ is happiest with the Remington which has a slight advantage over Hornady, the Hornady does seem to do a little more damage. I have tried both CCI and Federal in HP. I don't rate them in my gun. Not accurate enough for me and too much penetration.
My Pybus 22-250 is proving to be a 'finicky eater' the best stuff so far being some cheap match grade ex Serbian millitay 55 grain FMJ. Gone right off topic now. _________________ COGITO, ERGO ARMERUM SUM |
