I recently became aware of this book written by a marksman who has 20 years experience training soldiers how to shoot accurately and consistently in all kinds of environments. He has taught on many different platforms and fully understands what it takes to accurately group shots for consistent hits every time. Their lives depended on it!

Take a look and see what you think:

“Achieve Rifle Accuracy by First Achieving Rifle Precision”

If you own a rifle, you should be able to hit what you aim at! More so, you should hit exactly where you aim every time you squeeze the trigger. Accuracy or the ability to hit your target at any range and under any condition is dependent upon many variables:

Before you can have rifle accuracy, you must first have Rifle Precision!

Rifle Precision is the ability to consistently shoot the same way providing tight shot groups every time.

Tighter rifle shot groups will allow more accurate adjustments to your rifle sights as you zero in your rifle at any range.

I want to reinforce the fundamentals of consistency which are the Fundamentals of Marksmanship!

I was driving by one of the parks in town today and heard a crunch. Since I wasn’t paying any attention to what the heck was going on around me, it startled me. Which made me realize that I was daydreaming and could have run over 3 handycapped kids and a church lady without even knowing it. BUT, lucky for me, when I looked in my rear view mirror, what I saw was a squirrel trouting on the street behind me.

Those of us who shoot squirrels on a regular basis know that if you get a perfect head shot, and take out the brain, (what little there is), the autonomic reflexes in the squirrel make it flop all over the place, and we call that trouting. It looks like a Marlin tail walking across the bay. LOL

So, obviously I’m so good that even when I’m not paying attention, I can get a brain shot on a squirrel with my truck. Dang I’m good! They don’t call me Squirrel Sniper for nothing… (OK, Yea, I named myself Squirrel Sniper… So What.)
